It’s week 2, but I am going to pretend this is week 1. I completely forgot to post my mood board to give you guys a better idea of how I want our front entrance to look. I have this whole new design in my head, and I know only a quarter of it will get done. I want to add light posts at the end of the driveway, new exterior lighting/sconces, one on each side of the garage door. Along with a pendant light fixture at the entrance. See? I want to do so much, but time is just not allowing me to get it all done. I guess I can make the front entrance look lovely and modern as I can get it for now. We decided to give our home a name, and we love “The Blue Ranch.” A Modern Ranch home, with a beautiful Bluewater pool, Plumbagos with purple/blue flowers, our gorgeous painted blue/Turquoise doors (all the exterior doors are blue) and when its done our kitchen will have blue cabinets to continue the modern, glam, vintage vibe we have going on.
What do you think? I love the look, and I’m hoping I can pull it together on time. A few of the items I already have and a quick DIY to complete the look without breaking the bank will make this a fun, modern design seating area. My love is like “another challenge” LOL, yikes. I started pulling the design together already and seriously didn’t realize how much Orange has become a part of our decor. I love orange, but I wasn’t planning on adding it to our decor, at least not in this home. But, I must say it looks mighty sexy with the blue.
I realized what was missing once I was done, a touch of blue. Possibly a candle, I think that’s all it needs and allowing the doors to speak for themselves.
1. I am adding river rocks instead of dead grass LOL. I wanted it to grow or tried, and it just didn’t. 2. tiling the planter box in stone (the idea and goal) 3. hanging cool art I recently Purchased at my favorite place to shop Ross 4. Adding a few more plants for balance and a modern/tropical feel 5. I would like to reupholster the chairs I purchased for this space and added a wooden top to the table. 6. Refurbish my Mid Century Modern Slat Bench that I purchased a few years ago at the flea market; I believe for $8.00 bucks. 7. Privacy fence 8. Lighting and I think that’s it! YIKES.
Let’s take a look at few inspiration photos!
