I’m back my friends; I can’t believe we are in week 2 of the One Room Challenge Spring 2017, hosted by Linda from Calling It Home and Sponsored by House Beautiful (how exciting). So many participants and so many talented designers sharing their weekly progress is so amazing. I’m so excited to be a part of the One Room Challenge, I can’t wait to share my design idea with you all.
This Spring for the One Room Challenge, I decided to makeover our family room, because it was boring, and didn’t have the wow factor that I want. When we moved in, we decided to remodel/makeover the front rooms first, which includes; the Master Suite, our daughter’s bedroom, the formal living room, and our son’s bedrooms (our home is a split floor plan). Finally, the time has come, and with lots of hard work. I finally made my way to the back of our home, the family room and kitchen. I decided to include the kitchen since it’s one large room, I hope I can pull it off. If not I’ll keep on working and having fun.
Family Room Makeover!
My floors are white, so adding dark area rugs will bring out the color in the furniture and accessories. This is also a high traffic area, the french doors leads to the pool, and with two dogs i think this is a great choice. Layering is a fun way to add dimension, character and warmth to an all white space. It’s visually pleasing to the eye. I wanted to bring the outdoors in by adding different shades of blue and greenery. Our front doors are turquoise, so if i can find chairs in this color I would be super happy.
